Conclusion
In conclusion,
the battle of Fort Sumter marked a transition from political differences and a political
argument, to a war. Once that shot had been fired, there was no stopping the ball
of war that now rolled forth, unless a side came out the victor. It marked the beginning
of a war where whole towns would be wiped out, thousands of young men would die,
which could not have been foreseen. The fuse had been lit, and there was no stopping
the explosive war that followed. The battle of Fort Sumter was a great battle, though
there were no casualties in the battle, and the Civil War was initiated by the first
shot that was fired there.
